Sturridge set for Anfield stay

Liverpool are set to rebuff any approaches for Daniel Sturridge when the transfer window reopens next month, according to to the Mail Online.

The twenty-eight year old has been used sparingly by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp this season, starting just five out of eighteen Premier League games, scoring twice.

He had been linked with a move away with Valencia and Real Betis monitoring the situation though he is set to be kept on at Anfield, with Danny Ings more likely to secure a temporary move away.

Sturridge moved to Merseyside from Chelsea halfway through the 2012/13 campaign and has since played one hundred and thirty-three times, scoring sixty-three goals.

He was a key member of the squad that finished second behind Manchester City in 2014 while he does have a winners medal from his time at Stamford Bridge.

Internationally, he has been capped twenty-six times for England, scoring eight goals.
