Sturridge set for new deal

Liverpool are set to offer star striker Daniel Sturridge a bumper new deal, according to the Daily Star.

The England international has been in sublime form since swapping Stamford Bridge for Anfield in January 2013, netting thirty-six goals in just fifty-two appearances for the club in all competitions, with his one and only strike so far this season came in the opening day victory over Southampton where he scored the winner.

He is now set to be rewarded for his form by being offered a double-your-money five year contract extension, which will see him earn around £140,000 per week with additional bonuses on the table relating to goals scored and trophies secured.

He is currently side-lined with a thigh injury that will keep him out of Saturday’s home clash with high-flying Aston Villa, where Brendan Rodgers men can be backed at a price of 1/4 to take all three points.
