According to Marca, VfB Stuttgart has landed full-back Dennis Aogo after his contract expired with Schalke 04.
The 30-year-old will join one of the Bundesliga’s newest sides, as Stuttgart finished last season as 2. Bundesliga champions, thereby securing automatic promotion to Germany’s first division.
Die Roten gain a versatile player in Aogo as he has proved himself successful in not only playing in his preferred left back position, but is also known to play in the midfield as well.
Before joining Stuttgart, the former Germany international played for Hamburg for six seasons and later joined Schalke, where he stayed for three seasons.
In those nine seasons in the Bundesliga, Aogo accumulated over 240 appearances for both sides and added four goals to his tally.
Aogo now joins recent signing Holger Badstuber, who came to Stuttgart from Bayern Munich, as these signings will help immensely as the newly promoted side will fight to remain in the Bundesliga.
