Just when you thought there would be no good news, I came across an article in today’s Daily Mail that says referee Rob Styles is on the brink of quitting the sport.
Following a number of blunders over the past couple of seasons and an apology to Bolton earlier last month after incorrectly awarding a penalty to Manchester United in their 2-0 win, the red card he gave to Newcastle’s Habib Beye on Monday has now been overturned by the FA.
It would be a real shame if one of the top referees in World football walked away from the game. Anyway, back to Rob Styles! It’s surely only a matter of time until he is pushed, so he might as well jump!
