Luis Suarez says Liverpool are determined to win the Europa League this season.
The Reds made it through to the last 32 of the competition after Jordan Henderson’s goal fired them to a 1-0 win over Udinese, meaning Brendan Rodgers’ side claimed top spot in Group A.
After the game, the 25-year-old Suarez declared Liverpool want to win the competition.
“We want one thing and that is to win the Europa League,” Suarez told reporters.
As for their next opponents, the former Ajax striker revealed he would like to face his old club after they finished third in their Champions’ League group, knocking Manchester City out of Europe in the process.
“It would be nice, if we draw against Ajax. Ajax is a good team and a tough opponent. But it doesn’t matter to me which opponent we have to play,” Suarez said.
The draw for the last 32 of the Europa League takes place on December 20 in Nyon, Switzerland.
