Eric Cantona launched a verbal assault on Luis Suarez for what he perceived to be “blatant” diving in Barcelona’s incredible Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain, likening the striker’s dramatics to “football porn”.

Suarez played a key role in helping Barca overturn a first-leg 4-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League’s last 16, as the Catalans smashed their visitors 6-1 at Camp Nou in arguably the greatest escape in the competition’s history.

The hammering in Barcelona gave Luis Enrique’s men a 6-5 aggregate win and saw them progress to the last eight against the odds, though there was a hint of fortune about their fifth goal, as Suarez went down in the penalty area under minimal contact from Marquinhos and Neymar buried the resulting spot-kick.

Sergi Roberto then sealed the historic comeback a few moments later in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but former Manchester United star Cantona was keen to focus on Suarez in his foul-mouthed rant.

Speaking in a Eurosport video, controversial Cantona said: “Suarez is not a biter any more, he’s a diver. Not a very good one, way too dramatic.

“Such blatant cheating with this hand on the throat, look of agony. B******t.

“This is football porn. Kids should not be allowed to watch.”

Suarez was not the only player to incur the Frenchman’s wrath – Cantona also took aim at Manchester City following their Champions League exit at the hands of Monaco.

He specifically targeted defender John Stones, joking that the reason he cost £50 million is because he arrived with a “fully equipped trailer” behind him.

“Manchester City’s defence are not the only ones to blame for their very own infamous Brexit,” he said.

“We know now why John Stones was so expensive – because he comes with a fully equipped trailer that he pulls behind him when he plays.

“The question now is not who is going to leave when the summer comes, but rather, who is going to stay?”
