Sunderland reject Forest bid for Cattermole

Sunderland have rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest to take midfielder Lee Cattermole on loan, according to the Mail Online.

The former England U21 international, who has been with the Black Cats since signing from Wigan Athletic four years ago, is yet to feature under Paolo Di Canio, though the Italian has assured the midfielder that he is part of his plans.

Despite being just 25 years old, the former Middlesbrough man boast the unwanted statistic of being sent off more times in the Premier League than any other player currently plying their trade in the English top flight.

He has been dismissed in four league games during his time on Wearside, while he was also given his marching orders in the 2-0 League Cup victory over Milton Keynes Dons twelve months ago.

If he recovers from a knee injury as expected, Cattermole could feature in Sunderland’s trip to West Bromwich Albion, and you can back him to score at any time during the game at 12/1 with Bet 365.
