Suso set to sign new Reds deal

Liverpool midfielder Suso is on the verge of signing a new contract with the Merseyside club, according to the Metro.

The Spain U21 international, who is in the final year of his current contract, had recently been linked with a move to AC Milan though those reports were dismissed out of hand by the players agent.

Having spent last season on loan with La Liga side Almeria, Suso returned to Anfield in the summer and has made just one appearance so far this season, as a substitute in last month’s penalty shoot-out victory over Middlesbrough in the third round of the Capital One Cup where he scored minutes after coming on to give his side the lead in extra time.

Aside from that outing, the 20 year old made twenty appearance in all competitions in his debut season in English football while internationally, he was part of the Spain squad that won the UEFA U19 Championships in 2012.
