Swansea City have sealed the loan signing of midfielder Leroy Fer from Championship club QPR until the end of the season.

The switch, which is subject to international clearance, is Swansea’s second move into the transfer market since appointing Francesco Guidolin as head coach – striker Alberto Paloschi having arrived from Serie A club Chievo last week.

Fer, 26, has been capped 11 times by Netherlands at international level and was part of the squad Louis van Gaal guided to the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

The former Feyenoord and Twente star first moved to English football when he signed for Norwich City in August 2013.

Swansea lie 15th in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone thanks to back-to-back victories against Watford and Everton in their past two outings.
