Swedish shuffling draws Andersson doubt

Former Sweden defender Patrik Andersson has criticised national team coach Erik Hamren for experimenting too much during Euro 2012.

The Scandinavians failed to impress in their opening game against Ukraine as they were beaten 2-1, and Andersson feels they have plenty of work to do ahead of their second Group D match versus England on Friday.

“There is much to be desired. In the match against Ukraine the players looked disoriented,” Andersson told Sveriges Radio.

“The way we let in goals in as well, it’s been significantly against Iceland and Serbia as well. It is not Swedish.

“I had wanted a clarity, a clarity to the squad as well. That you know who is covering who and players have confidence. A clearer leadership.

“We only have three matches but the players don’t look ready. Do they know what is at stake?”
