Terry linked with Qatar switch

Chelsea captain John Terry has emerged as a shock transfer target for Qatari outfit Al-Arabi, according to the Metro.

The Middle East outfit are currently coached by former Blues star Gianfranco Zola, who played alongside Terry at Stamford Bridge at the turn of the century.

Terry is out of contract at the end of the season and could finally be set to call time on his Chelsea career, which began twenty years ago.

Since breaking into the Blues first team the defender has racked up almost seven hundred appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring sixty-two goals.

However, he has struggled this season and been part of a squad that have lost five of their ten league games so far.

Chelsea’s latest defeat came at the hands of West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, and they are now eleven points behind leaders Manchester City and priced at 33/1 to retain the title.
