New Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has rubbished reports that the Serie A club have told him to lose weight.

Tevez, 29, joined the Serie A champions last month from Manchester City in a deal reportedly worth up to €14 million.

The Argentine forward was not at his best for City last term, but he still managed to score 17 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions.

And he will form part of a new look strikeforce for Juventus, with Spaniard Fernando Llorente also recently joining the club on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao.

But media reports this week suggested that Juventus’ coaching staff had told Tevez he needed to shed weight ahead of the new season.

Tevez said the reports were simply not true though, and added that he had not even been weighed by Juventus.

“I have not yet arrived at Juve and there are already those who argue that I am overnight and I have to lose six kilograms of weight,” Tevez said.

“But I have not yet weighed in. I have to laugh to hear certain things. Juventus didn’t tell me anything like that.”
