Tevez sob story is beginning to annoy me!

Like most football fans I’ve always had a lot of time for Carlos Tevez. He is a hard working and loyal player who gives absolutely everything for the cause of the team he is playing for at the time.

Former players returning to Upton Park to play against West Ham are given a torrid time by the East End club’s fans normally, but he was given a standing ovation by the Hammers fans when he went back there.

Move

Now, ahead of his expected move across the city of Manchester the Argentina international is doing what he can to try to make sure that the United fans treat him in a similar manner.

“If I play for Manchester City I don’t think the United fans will feel I am a traitor. They have to remember that at least as far as I know I have been thrown out of the club and I have to study the best offers available. Leaving came about because I could not stand my sporting situation at Manchester United any longer. My first year was good in all senses. I played in the games and felt respected by the coach but in my second year some strange things happened that I still do not understand. After the game at Old Trafford where Liverpool beat us Ferguson ignored me almost as if I was to blame for the defeat when really Liverpool dominated us all over the pitch. After that the fans called for me to be in the team but he never took the advice on board because he always knows best. I gave everything for Manchester United and people know that. For that reason I don’t deserve the way things have ended up.”

There is no doubt that Tevez had made himself a fans favourite at Old Trafford, but that surely more to do with his attitude than what he actually produced on the pitch. In terms of ability on the ball, not many people would have selected Tevez ahead of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Dimitar Berbatov.

Forced out

Tevez says that he was ‘forced out’ of the club, yet at the end of his two year loan deal United agreed to pay the £25.5million fee required to secure his services permanently, and offered him a five-year contract that would set him up for life. I wish I could get ‘forced out’ of somewhere like that!!

Tevez looks set to sign for Manchester City and seems pretty sure that the United fans won’t hold a grudge. I’m not sure he is right. His efforts will always be appreciated by the Old Trafford faithful but going to City for the money and claiming that he was forced out of United when he clearly wasn’t is not the way to retain his cult status.

He uses the phrase, “He never took the advice on board because he always knows best.”

Achieve

Well, Sir Alex Ferguson’s record suggests that he does know best more often than not and selecting a player because the crowd like him is not the way to achieve what he has achieved.

Finally, Tevez says that his position at United was untenable because of the lack of first team action he saw in his second season. He says that the first season was great. Let’s look at his appearance record over the two seasons.

Appearances

In season one, he made a total of forty-eight appearances for the first team, scoring nineteen goals. Last season he appeared fifty-one times, scoring fifteen goals. I appreciate that many of his appearances in the second season were as a substitute, but it is clear he was very much part of the squad.

Tevez was the player Ferguson turned to at half-time in the Champions League final, not Berbatov.

Respect

My respect for Tevez has been slightly diminished by this whole situation. He wanted more money than United would pay him and he wanted away from the club. He is going to choose to go to United’s rivals and neighbours because they will pay him more than anyone else. I don’t blame him for that, I just wish he wouldn’t bleat on about how badly he thinks he has been treated.

Who ever talks evil against C. Teves is a murderer in the football world. Let me asure such people that C Teves was not after money as others say. He openly said that, He committed himself to United and all his carrier he had wanted to become a legend for united but what brought him down was the love Furgason has for that flop D. Barbatov. Furgason turned his ears away from C Teves untill he decided to say goodbye to the Club of course he pained alot to see that united fanz felt bad for his departure including me. At the end of the drama I supported him in the decission he made to join MC. And I hope he will do a miracle to score the winning goal against Man Utd when they will meet it the first leg. We love C Teves even though you left us. On C Ronaldo’s departure I have no problem.

MONEY ISN’T EVERYTHING. IF TEVEZ ONLY PLAYS 10 MINUTES EVERY GAME, WHY JUDGE HIM FOR LEAVING!!! EVEN THE BALL GUYS STAY LONGER ON THE FIELD.

I dont hate Tevez for leaving.
And I understand how Graham feels annoyed over this saga, as I have been annoyed by the Ronaldo saga and Michael Jacksons death….. gallllllllyyyyy can yall give these a break?!!!?
But Elvis, I dont think Man U will suffer toooo much…. they will a good bit with that void Ronny and Tevez left in the Attack, but what u need to know about ManU- which it does happen in other clubs, I have jus noticed not as frequently- is that when they go down, they get back up a bit shaky, but then come out stronger than before.
But we will suffer some, I assure you….. I dont like it, but it is the truth, and I always accept the truth.

I feel bad that Tevez is leaving d club under the present circumstances, yes he was “forced out” by SAF and yhe Board. we neva showed any commitment of keeping him, even when d fans and fellow teammates were begging SAF to sign him, we neva showed enough commitment to kip him. he may have appeared fifty-one times this season against 48 times of last season. but the writer should tell us d total cummulative minutes he played in both season that will give us a beta jugdment of the situation. i tink the fans knows beta than wat the writer wants us to believe. WE LOOSE TEVEZ BCOS OF OUR LACK OF RESPECT FOR HIM. QED

Am so happy he is leaving United. We all saw the drama as it played out before Man. C came calling.
Though the fans were crazy over him,the player was literally begging to be signed as fast as posible, but the board watched from the sidelines, not until Man. C came calling.
Witout Ronaldo and Tevez(two players that have changed the course of a game one too many times esp at the last few minutes),believe me,Man. U has lost that invicibility, and would definitely suffer this season.

The writer’s bias on the Teves saga is obvious. It is better that the wishes/rights of people are respected.would united have offered him any contract if he had not been outstanding? And i’ve never heard of anyone playing for his dearest team for free; players only need to justify whatever they are paid; put differently, the bigger the pay, the greater the expectation or better still, the pay defines the star. It takes alot for a player to endear himself to the fans; it definitely entails hardwork and enough committment to the goals of that team. Teves was this and much more at united. Obviously, SAF is not perfect. Alas! the star moves on.

I believe that Tevez has done the right thing for himself. People deserve respect. Sir Alex failed woefully in his handling of the Carlos Tevez affair. The guy wanted to be acknowledged that he even exist but the board kept mute and kept their cool until the guy became free under the Bosman rule. If he spites United this way, it is to show them that different people with different temperaments and as a manager you need to know each of your players and build a personal relationship with each of them. Jose Mourinho was able to do this successfully while at Chelsea.
