Out of the Top 5 leagues in Europe, there is no question that the Serie A has had the most activity when it comes to the transfer market. Aside from Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus, there have been several other movements that are worth mentioning.

This time, we will focus on some signings that have not received the attention they deserve. Without further ado, here are the three most underrated signings in the Serie A so far during the current transfer period.

Valon Berisha – from RB Salzburg to Lazio

Austrian powerhouses RB Salzburg got fame across Europe following their impressive UEFA Europa League campaign last season. However, they are beginning to suffer the consequences of that. And the first noticeable one was the departure of Valon Barisha. The talented 25-year-old midfielder joined Lazio to bolster an already stellar crop of midfielders.

The Rome-based side will play in the UEFA Europa League next season, and Berisha comes as an intriguing addition. Especially since they already lost Felipe Anderson, while remaining in danger of losing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. However, Barisha is ready to fill that void. His attacking ability, versatility to fulfill several roles and creativity in the middle of the pitch are all traits that should help Lazio towards their dream of returning to the Champions League. And while he might not be a big name as others in this list, there is no question that he could be one of the most underrated signings in the Serie A this term. He already made an impact in Europe playing for Salzburg, and is ready to take the next step in his career.

Lautaro Martinez – from Racing to Inter Milan

Inter Milan have been one of the most ambitious teams in the market. They already signed Radja Nainggolan and bolstered their attack with the arrival of Lautaro Martinez. However, Martinez’s arrival certainly edges the one of the former Belgium international. Martinez is years away from his prime and still needs to develop further. So in reality, we will never know if he can reach his potential until a few more years. What we DO know is that the former Racing star will become a world-class player and Inter got him before he got too expensive, as he joins for a £20.70 million fee. Given the way the market has behaved of late and his insane amount of potential, it’s hard to argue against this move.

If one wants to know how much trust Inter have in his new signing, just be aware that Martinez received the n.° 10 shirt. He will not take Icardi’s place as the team’s top attacking threat this year, but has all the potential in the world to do so sooner than later. One thing is clear, though: he is ready to take the Serie A by storm. And will certainly make Inter better despite being such a young player. His deadly attacking runs, flair, and uncanned goalscoring ability will certainly be a plus for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Justin Kluivert – from Ajax to AS Roma

Javier Pastore’s arrival from PSG to Roma certainly stands out, and the Argentinian will be Nainggolan’s natural replacement. However, few signings over the summer period in the Serie A will have a bigger impact on a long-term scenario than the one of Justin Kluivert to the Giallorossi. The Dutch international has all the tools to become a star in the near future, and Roma made an impressive business signing him. What is crazy is the fact that he left Ajax for a relatively small fee of “just” £15.53 million.

There is a lack of clarity concerning which role he will fulfill at Roma, though. It would make sense if they bring him with ease into the league. After all, Kliuvert is young and Roma have plenty of depth on the attacking end. Plus, the Italian Serie A is far more competitive than the Dutch Eredivisie. But don’t be surprised if he ends up being quite a bargain in only a few months. He certainly has enough talent to do so, and he could form an intriguing duo with Edin Dzeko upfront.
