Brazil have confirmed their squad for October’s World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela, with former captain Thiago Silva returning from international exile.
Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Silva, who has missed the start of the season through injury, has not played for Brazil for over a year after a falling out of favour under Tite’s predecessor Dunga.
New Inter striker Gabriel Barbosa is the most noteworthy omission from the Brazil squad that beat Ecuador and Colombia in the last international break to leave the team second in World Cup qualifying.
Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa has been recalled but there is no spot for Chelsea’s David Luiz, although his club team-mates Oscar and Willian are included.
Uncapped Flamengo goalkeeper Alex Muralha has been named in the squad, while Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino is included among the forwards, alongside Neymar.
Earlier on Friday, the Barcelona star showed off the new tattoo he has had to mark Brazil’s success at the recent Olympic Games tournament on home soil via an Instagram post.
