Thierry Henry to quit New York Red Bulls

Sports Illustrated has revealed that French superstar Thierry Henry will be leaving New York Red Bulls at the end of the year.

The veteran’s contract with the MLS side is due to expire at the end of the calendar year and well-informed sources close to the club claim there is ‘zero chance’ the striker will sign a new deal.

The 37-year-old may still decide to play on after his current contract comes to an end, as there has been no talk of retirement just yet.

Thierry Henry has been arguably the biggest signing in the league’s history and he has played a key role for New York Red Bulls ever since he joined on a free transfer from Barcelona back in 2010.

While also enjoying a short loan spell with former club Arsenal, the forward has made a total of 127 league appearances in the MLS, scoring impressive 51 goals in the process.
