Tigers swoop for Man City striker

Hull City are reported to have agreed a fee with Manchester City for striker Benjani and is expected at the KC stadium today to complete a medical.

It has been well documented that Hull boss Phil Brown has attempted to bolster the squads attack on numerous occasions and now hopes to add Benjani to the summer signings of Jozy Altidore and Kamel Ghilas.

Benjani’s future appears to be rather bleak at Eastlands after Mark Hughes’ massive spending spree, including the likes of Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Reports were heavily linking the Zimbabwean striker with a move back to former club Portsmouth, with manager Paul Hart admitting the 31-year-old was among his targets.

However, it seems with a fee agreed between the two clubs a move to the KC Stadium could be more likely as long as Benjani can agree personal terms at Hull.

Benjani was signed by Manchester City back in January 2008 for around £4 million, scoring 4 goals in 21 games after the move from Portsmouth. He has been capped 33 times for Zimbabwe scoring 9 goals.
