Torres set for Chelsea stay

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that Fernando Torres will not be sold this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The 30 year old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge following the arrival of international teammate Diego Costa, who he replaced as a substitute twice at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

However, with Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o having moved on in the close season, his manager has insisted that he does have a future at the club.

The former Atletico Madrid man has scored just twenty league goals since securing a £50m move from Liverpool half way through the 2010/11 campaign, adding a further twenty-five in cup competitions.

Despite that low tally, he has tasted success in the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League, and will look to improve his return as the club look to challenge on four fronts next season.
