Tottenham have finally caved in to Zenit’s demands for Russia’s version of David Beckham, according to The Mirror. Zenit are holding out for a transfer fee of about £19 million for their star player and now it looks like they are going to get it.

Arshavin’s departure is likely to cause much grief in his home-land, but London should welcome the arrival of a very spectacular player, according to Zenit’s captain, Anatoli Tymoschuk.

“He will enjoy London because the fans will love him. He will be the most spectacular player they’ve seen in England for a long time,” claims Tymoschuk, as reported by The Mirror.

Arshavin’s move would strengthen Tottenham’s attacking department after Robbie Keane’s departure to Liverpool this summer and Dimitar Berbatov’s potential move to Old Trafford might have weakened it severely.

Arshavin and Capel? theyd both occupy the same position as i cant see Arshavin getting in front of Berbatov or Modric!

Berbatov is away -spurs are basically waiting to make sure they have him replaced (arshavin). He is a grumpy, grumpy man and wants to play for Man U, so Its better that we cash in on him rather than have him sulk around the pitch. Great player, but I think with players we have brought in we dont need him. we are gonna rock next year

berbatov can go, same as keane, we have a team that is a team, and thats why we will win the prem, get your money down, but wait till monday or tuesday, so i can get 50-1. tottenham our a complete different outfit to last year, why do you think fergy and benitez want our players, there trying to disrupt our players, but ramos has already accounted for it, with giovani, and derren bent will be top goal scorer, all i will say is remember brian cloughys nottingham forest. thats all im saying lads, thats all im saying. YOU AINT SEEN NOTHIN YET

Just wtf is Arshavin? This guy is 28 years old and no one heard of him until 1.5 months ago. And the only reason why he played well in 1 match (with Holland) in Euro 2008 was because he got to rest while other players have played 3 matches. The Arshavin guy in the match with Spain is the real Arshavin. Russians can rot.

Got something to say?
