Tottenham 21/20 to beat Newcastle in Saturdays Premier League matchup

Competition: Premier League

Market: Tottenham win

Odds: 21/20 @ Bet 365

Although many around Tottenham are unimpressed with their lack of activity during the summer window, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side will get their Premier League campaign underway when they travel to Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, although The Magpies have managed to bring in Saloman Rondon from West Brom on a season-long loan, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has been highly critical of his sides lack of activity and despite securing a mid-table finish last season, they have been drastically short of form during their pre-season preparations. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to Augsburg in their final outing, Newcastle were also thumped 4-0 by Braga in what Benitez hoped would be an eye-opener. However, now failing to score in any of their last three pre-seaosn outings, it could be a difficult afternoon even against a depleted Spurs side.

As for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, although Spurs will be moving to their new stadium later in the month and many believe this is the time to finally lift a trophy, Tottenham are yet to make a single signing this summer and will travel to Tyneside missing a number of World Cup stars. With the likes of Harry Kane and Jan Vertongan yet to return to training, the Argentinian boss will be looking for Son Heung-min to lead from the front. Along with scoring 18 in all competitions last year, the Korean international has bagged three on their pre-season tour of the States. Even with a number of key men missing, we believe Tottenham will get the new Premier League campaign off with a win.
