Tottenham, under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, have a London derby against local rivals West Ham United this weekend to kick off their Premier League campaign. There will be some extra spice going into the meeting as the Hammers managed to beat Spurs three times in 2013/14.

Sam Allardyce’s side did the league double over Tottenham last season, and also beat them in the Capital One Cup too. But past meetings suggest that Tottenham should be regarded the favourites for victory this weekend.

Last season, seven places and 29 points separated the two London clubs, and West Ham are under a lot of pressure to improve upon their performance in the previous campaign.

Betfair are giving odds of 21/20 for Tottenham to emerge victorious against West Ham United on Saturday, as Pochettino’s men had lost just once to the Hammers in the last six years prior to 2013/14. Erik Lamela and Lewis Holtby are likely to be brought in from the cold to start against Sam Allardyce’s side.
