Tottenham accepting Berbatov fate

Tottenham have finally realized that they can have little hope of retaining the services of Dimitar Berbatov for the upcoming season, claims a report in The Independent.

The report mentions that neither Barcelona nor Henry have had any contact from Manchester United or related parties and that reports in yesterday’s press, claiming that the Frenchman was used as a decoy in the United’s pursuit of Berbatov, were not far off reality.

The report claims that Tottenham are ‘pessimistic’ about the possibility of holding off United in their pursuit of Berbatov and a deal could be done anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the Premier League will begin an investigation in United’s illegal approach for Dimitar Berbatov, according to The Times.

This still makes no sense at the moment. Are Spurs really prepared to start the Premier League with only one striker?

It seems that Berba is off and in the end I don’t think too many Spurs fans will be that disappointed. His attitude in recent weeks has been appalling and he must be let go so that it does not affect the rest of the squad.
I am not surprised that few clubs actually came in for him as his lack of professionalism must have put a few off.
I think Sir Alex may also live to regret him as if he does not get regular first team games the strop may appear again.
The new squad at Spurs is better than it has been for a long time and a new striker and a center back in the next few days and we will be a serious challenge for the top 4 without Berbatov. It seems a long way back to players like Gary Mabbet and Stevie Perryman who lived for the club and the shirt rather than the filthy Luca
