Tottenham agree deal for Jeremy Toljan

Portuguese daily newspaper Record claims that Tottenham Hotspur are wrapping up a deal to sign Hoffenheim defender Jeremy Toljan.

The full-back impressed playing for the Bundesliga side last season, while he was also in fine form as Germany claimed the Under-21 European Championship trophy earlier this summer.

While Napoli and Benfica were also keen on his services, latest reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur have won the chase.

Hoffenheim had no choice but to cash in on their star player, whose contract was due to expire in June 2018, but the cost of the transfer has not been disclosed.

Toljan is the product of club’s youth academy and he so far amassed 54 Bundesliga appearances.

Operating mainly as a left-back, the 22-year-old can also play at right-back and as a left midfielder.
