Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa to fight for David Bentley

According to the Daily Mirror, Blackburn think that David Bentley is about as good as Gareth Barry as they have slapped a £17 million price tag on the want-away winger.

Bentley is thought to be looking for a way out of Ewood park and, according to the same report, Aston Vila, Tottenham and Everton will fight for his signature. Yet, despite the widespread interest in the player, it is unlikely that any of the three clubs would be willing to match the £17 million evaluation.

Aston Villa would have the money as soon as they sell Gareth Barry while Everton will only move if there is a concrete offer for Mikel Arteta, as reported by the Daily Mirror. Tottenham, meanwhile are preparing an elaborate part-exchange deal.

According to The Guardian, Juande Ramos would be willing to dispose of the services of Darren Bent, Paul Robinson and, should Blackburn be interested, Anthony Gardner. Ramos is hoping that this offer is more attractive than the last one he made for Bentley which included £7 million and Aaron Lennon.
