Tottenham join race for Huntelaar

London Evening Standard reports that Tottenham are the latest club to have joined the race for Schalke striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

With Emmanuel Adebayor set to miss several weeks of action in January due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen on adding another forward to the squad in the winter.

London Evening Standard suggests the Portuguese manager is weighing up move for Schalke star Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutchman has entered the final year of his deal at Veltins Arena and will, therefore, be available at a cut-back price in January.

Tottenham have been following the 29-year-old for a while now and could finally make a move on the highly rated striker.

The only problem is that a host of Europe’s top clubs are showing interest in the player’s services, including Liverpool, Lazio and Atletico Madrid.
