Tottenham keen on Algeria hotshot

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a January bid for Sporting Lisbon attacker Islam Slimani, according to Record.

Spurs seem to be in the market for a centre-forward, with both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado largely disappointing of late.

Record has suggested that Sporting’s Islam Slimani is one of the first names on their hit-list, with the Algerian having impressed playing for the Lions of late.

The 26-year-old, who was close to joining West Ham in the summer, is widely tipped to leave Estadio Jose Alvalade for greener pastures in the near future.

Slimani has been in fine form this season, bagging 7 goals in 12 league outings, and he is currently taking part at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria.

The forward scored the third goal for the Desert Warriors as his side came from a goal behind to record a 3-1 victory over South Africa in the opening match.
