As the start of the transfer window looms ever closer, Tottenham is still the most active club in England. Juande Ramos has already moved for two goalkeepers, on top of adding Modric and dos Santos to his ranks. Now he looks to further strengthen his midfield.

According to The Guardian, Tottenham has began talks with Blackburn in a bid to bring David Bentley to White Hart Lane. The former Arsenal winger has announced his intention to leave Ewood Park as he seeks European football. Tottenham would be able to offer him that.

According to the report, Juande Ramos has already offered £7 million and Aaron Lennon in return for Bentley, but Blackburn rejected the offer. Despite this, Tottenham is poised to return with an improved deal for the England winger.
