Roma stalwart Francesco Totti hailed his team-mates after Saturday’s 4-2 Serie A victory over AC Milan.

The capital club took a 4-0 lead against the visitors, with goals coming from Nicolas Burdisso, Pablo Osvaldo and two from Erik Lamela, before Milan grabbed some consolation through Giampaolo Pazzini and Bojan in the closing minutes.

Totti was delighted by the result and saw it as an indication of Roma’s potential to make the second half of the campaign memorable.

“It was a great win tonight against Milan,” the 36-year-old Italian told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If we play that way we have no limits. We have a great 2013 to look forward to.”

Roma have enjoyed an excellent conclusion to the year, winning five of their last six league games after losing the Rome derby in mid-November.

Totti’s optimism was echoed goal-scorer Burdisso.

“We started on the right foot today,” the Argentine defender said.

“Our goals are to continue playing to as high a level as possible. We know our strength, but we must always prove it.”

Roma are currently sixth in Serie A with 32 points, 12 behind leaders Juventus.
