Trabzonspor failed to take the lead in the Turkish Super League, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Gaziantepspor on Sunday.
Leaders Besiktas dropped two points against Sivasspor on Friday, giving Trabzonspor a chance to move into first place.
A win was needed to do so, but Gaziantepspor actually took the lead through Beto right after the interval.
Unal did get one back for the home side three minutes later, but his team didn’t manage to net another.
After eight match-days, Besiktas have one point more than Trabzonspor and two more than BB Ankaraspor.
