Tunnicliffe completes Wigan switch

Wigan Athletic have signed Ryan Tunnicliffe on loan from Premier League strugglers Fulham for the remainder of the season, Sky Sports understands.

The midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements by new Cottagers boss Felix Magath, just three weeks after completing a deadline day transfer from Manchester United.

The 21 year old made his English top-flight debut against his former club in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford earlier this month, with his only other Fulham appearance coming in the 3-2 home defeat to Liverpool three days later.

Tunnicliffe has experience of playing in the Championship, having enjoyed loan spells with Peterborough United, Barnsley and Ipswich Town in recent seasons.

He joins a Wigan side who currently sit in seventh position in the second-tier under manager Uwe Rosler – a point off a play-off position as they look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League having been relegated last May.
