FC Twente applied additional pressure on their rivals in the Dutch Eredivisie, as the league leaders earned a 3-1 win over ADO Den Haag on Friday.

The start was anything but good for Steve McClaren’s side however as ADO’s Wesley Verhoek scored the opening goal in the very first minute.

But Bryan Ruiz levelled from the penalty spot in the 33rd and went on to put Twente in the lead four minutes before the hour.

Danish midfielder Kenneth Perez made it 3-1 in the 69th minute to take away all doubts.

Twente are now five points ahead of second-placed PSV, who play away to third-placed Ajax on Sunday.
