Bayern Munich midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk is heading towards Rubin Kazan, according to Izvestia.
The midfielder’s contract at Alianz Arena is due to expire in June, and he is set to leave the German giants having not been offered a new deal.
The return to Russian Premier League looks the most likely option at the moment, especially given that Rubin Kazan are prepared to offer Tymoshchuk a bumper deal.
Izvestia has learned that Rubin are readying a three-year contract worth €2.5 million per campaign, which is a remarkable offer for a player nearing the end of his playing career.
The Tatarstan club officials believe the Ukrainian still has few good years ahead of him and they are prepared to take a gamble by signing him on a Bosman deal in the summer.
Prior to joining Bayern Munich, Tymoshchuk spent two and a half years at Zenit, making 67 league appearances for the club and scoring 10 goals.
