Bayern Munich midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk said the German giants have what it takes to win both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
The Bavarians currently sit top of the Bundesliga table with a four-point lead over second-placed Schalke, while they also lead Group A of the Champions League having taken seven points from three encounters.
“At Bayern, anything other than a victory is considered a failure. We’re top of the Bundesliga and on course to reach our goal, but it’s very tight at the top of the table and we have some big challenges ahead,” Tymoshchuk told fifa.com.
“The Champions League is another tournament we could win, but everyone knows how difficult that is.”
The former Zenit St Petersburg man also stated that he is happy at Bayern for now, before adding that he is likely to return to one of his former clubs in the future.
“I haven’t thought about it just yet. At the moment I’m happy at Bayern. I haven’t thought about ending my career either because I feel I still have a lot to offer,” the Ukraine international said.
“But as I’ve said several times in the past, I think it would be fitting to see out my playing days with one of the clubs I enjoyed success with in the past.”
Tymoshchuk has a contract with Bayern until the end of the season.
