Manchester United will be dressed in white when the Premier League champions face FC Barcelona in the final of Europe’s most prestigious club tournament.
In theory, Barcelona are the home team in this Champions League final and will therefore play in their usual red-and-blue outfit. United’s home color is red, while away matches are usually played in blue.
As neither color would work in this case, the team that is normally known as ‘Red Devils’ will now appear in all-white.
It is not the first time that United use this color in a European cup final. In 1991, the final of the Cup Winners’ Cup was won in white, against -of all clubs- FC Barcelona.
Referring to any possible comparison with Real Madrid, whose traditional color is white, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson jokingly said that his side is “better than Real Madrid”.

Good to see, Barcelona 1 up on Man U already.
If Barcelona were at full strength this game wouldn’t even be a contest.
