Saturday’s Peruvian Primera Division clash between Universitario and Sport Huancayo was notable for a first-half dive from Angelo Cruzado.

Jose Mendoza flighted an enticing ball into the box for Cruzado in the first half, and the attacker ghosted past Universitario defender Aurelio Saco Vertiz.

There appeared to be no contact between the two players, but Cruzado flopped to the ground in apparent agony.

The referee awarded a penalty, which was duly converted by Blas Lopez to give Sport Huancayo the lead.

William Mimbela made it 2-0 eight minutes into the second half, but a Miguel Ximenez brace for the home side had things all square after 74 minutes.

There was still time for one last twist however, and it was that man Cruzado who was once again the thorn in Universitario’s side – bobbing up to score the winner in the third minute of stoppage time.
