Valdes keen to fight for Manchester United future

Victor Valdes has vowed to fight for his place at Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

The Spain international has not featured for the club so far this season, with Sergio Romero playing all six games under Louis van Gaal so far and Sam Johnstone on the bench.

He has not been handed a squad number and has been left out of United’s Champions League squad though he could still feature in the Premier League and the League and FA Cups.

The former Barcelona man was linked with a move to Besiktas last month, though the Turkish side pulled the plug on the deal.

Valdes signed for Van Gaal’s side in January, and has so far made just two appearances for the club, both coming in the league at the very end of last season.

Manchester United currently sit fifth in the Premier League, and can be backed at 1/3 to finish the season in the top four.
