Valencia are close to reaching an agreement to sign Lille defender Adil Rami in January, according to reports from France.
Valencia will pay Lille €6 million for the French international, who will be loaned back to the Ligue 1 side until the end of the season.
Rami, who was close to joining Olympique Marseille last summer, has reportedly agreed a three and a half year contract with the La Liga side, where he will link up with fellow Frenchmen Jeremy Mathieu and Sofiane Feghouli.
The 24-year-old has earned a wide acclaim for his performances in Ligue 1 during the past few years and he is already considered a first team regular in the French national team.
Rami is considered a prototype of the modern defender, with his heading skills making him a real threat for the opposition defences during set pieces.
