Valencia closing in on Ligue 1 hotshot

Valencia are on the verge of signing Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro, according to L’Equipe.

The La Liga outfit seem to have matched Lorient’s €10 million valuation of the player and the deal could be completed within next few days.

Los Che would allow Gameiro to remain at Lorient on loan until the end of the season, just like they did with Lille’s Adil Rami, whose transfer to Valencia was made official yesterday.

The diminutive striker’s impressive showings during the last few seasons saw him generate a lot of attention from abroad, but it seems Valencia were the first team to materialize their interest.

The 23-year-old scored 8 goals in 17 league appearances this season, while he was also handed his first senior cap by Laurent Blanc.
