Valencia confirm interest in three defenders

Valencia head coach Marcelino Garcia has moved to confirm interest in three highly rated centre-backs.

Los Che plan to offload Ezequiel Garay and Aymen Abdennour this summer and they are in the market for defensive reinforcements.

They have recently been linked with moves for Jeison Murillo, Ivan Marcano and Gabriel Paulista, and it appears these were not just rumours.

Namely, head coach Marcelino has confirmed that these were the players on his radar, partly because they already have La Liga experience.

“They can be (transfer targets), they are players with important qualities, they know the Spanish league, they speak Spanish, and this is an important factor because the adaptation is always faster,” Marcelino said.

Valencia are currently undergoing a squad rebuilding process as the club plan to get rid of most high earners and replace them with quality players who don’t cost as much.
