Valencia leads United past Boca Juniors

Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia had a dream debut with Manchester United on Wednesday, scoring the decider to beat Boca Juniors 2-1 at the Audi Cup in Germany.

United’s Anderson scored the opening goal on 23 minutes, and Valencia added the second shortly before the break in his first ever game for the Red Devils.

Insua pulled one back for Boca in the 55th minute but United held on to their 2-1 lead to reach the final of the friendly tournament.

The match was played at Munich’s Allianz, which later also formed the theater of the game between Bayern Munich and AC Milan. Bayern won that game 4-1 and face the English champions in the final on Thursday.
