Valencia to tie down Fran Villalba

Valencia officials are desperate to strengthen their grip on talented midfielder Fran Villalba, Superdeporte can reveal.

The 17-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of club’s hottest prospects at the moment and he has already shown some promise at senior level as well.

Villalba was one of Valencia’s best players in the Copa del Rey semi-final return leg against Barcelona, making everybody at the club stand up and take notice.

Even though the youngster has another two years left on his current contract, his release clause stands at just €4 million, which is hardly a perfect scenario.

As a result, the club officials plan to offer the talented footballer a new deal as soon as possible and increase said clause to €20m or €30m.

Los Che clearly fear that top Spanish clubs will soon come knocking for Villalba and they will do everything in their power to safeguard their prized asset.
