Van Persie set for Feyenoord return

Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie has all but agreed to return to Feyenoord, according to Turkish newspaper Aksam.

The 34-year-old seems to have agreed a deal with his former club and all that’s left is for him to try and rescind his contract with the Turkish giants.

With the experienced forward no longer an important player at Fenerbahce, the club chiefs are likely to be interested in getting his hefty salary off their wage bill.

It was at Feyenoord that Van Persie had begun his professional career and he went on to score 15 league goals before signing for Arsenal.

The Netherlands international would go on to become one of Premier League’s most recognised strikers, enjoying very successful spells with both the Gunners and Man Utd.
