Marco Verratti has undergone surgery on a groin injury, with Paris Saint-Germain confirming the operation went according to plan.
The midfielder has been persistently troubled by the issue in recent months and was ruled out of Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign as a result, but his road to recovery has now begun.
“The operation was a success,” a PSG statement said.
“Paris Saint-Germain wishes Marco a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back to his best for both club and country.”
