Verratti set for new PSG deal

Italian midfielder Marco Verratti is set to pledge his long-term future to Paris Saint-Germain, L’Equipe can reveal.

The 23-year-old quickly proved his worth after arriving from Pescara and developed into one of Europe’s most talented footballers while at Parc des Princes.

Verratti has become a target for a number of top sides in the process, but the latest reports suggest he has decided to remain with the Saints.

According to L’Equipe, Verratti will soon put pen to paper on a new deal until June 2021 after his agents agreed terms with the club.

Marco Verratti has spent last four years at Parc des Princes, making 105 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring two goals in the process.

He has also become an important part of the Italy national team and is expected to play a key role for the Azzurri at the Euro 2016 finals next summer.
