Vilanova supports ´anarchic´ Fabregas

Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has reaffirmed his faith in Cesc Fabregas amid rumours of the midfielder’s discontent at Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old hinted at his frustrations with former Barca coach Pep Guardiola in August, in relation his role within the club’s system.

But those troubles appear to have been resolved after Fabregas returned to somewhere near his best in the Catalans’ 4-1 victory over Getafe last weekend.

“In my mind, there’s no debating him,” the coach told the club’s official website. “I don’t know what’s so bad about a player being a bit anarchic.”

“Sometimes you need that to break down defences. He has had some great games as a central midfielder, and if there’s any debate, I know nothing about it.”

Meanwhile, key defensive duo Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique remain sidelined due to injury, leaving Vilanova short of options at the back, ahead of a hectic fixture list.

“As long as I am coach, we’ll never force a player into being ready for a match, because the most important thing is their health,” the 43-year-old said.

“If Marc Bartra is in the first team, it’s because he’s good enough to play. The season has only just started and Marc will get games.”

“What I’m concerned about is getting 15 points out of 15 (against Granada on Saturday), something that hasn’t been done very often.”
