Villa in for Carroll

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll, according to the Mail Online.

The 22 year old is currently on loan at Swansea City, for whom he has made eighteen appearances in all competitions, while his only goal for the club so far came in their 6-2 win over Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup.

In total, he has played twenty-three times for Spurs but didn’t feature under Sherwood as he was at Queens Park Rangers on a season-long deal.

The England U21 international, who has also played for Derby County and Leyton Orient, is unlikely to feature again this season after suffering an ankle injury last month.

Villa shocked Liverpool in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, and can be backed at a price of 5/2 to beat Arsenal and lift the trophy at Wembley on May 30th.
