Alexis Sanchez made the long journey to watch Arsenal at Middlesbrough extra special for one young fan.
Chile international forward Sanchez scored his 19th Premier League goal of the season as Arsene Wenger’s men overcame their relegation-threatened opponents at the Riverside Stadium on Monday.
After the match, when the Arsenal players went to applaud their supporters, Sanchez spotted a child at the front of the stand and gave him his playing shirt – to the youngster’s visible delight.
“Great moment giving this gift to this little boy #happyeaster,” Sanchez said on his Instagram page.
“Making a kid happy makes me happy too.”
Mesut Ozil scored Arsenal’s winning goal after Alvaro Negredo equalised for Middlesbrough and both he and Sanchez have been linked with moves away from Emirates Stadium, as speculation continues over bumper extensions to their current contracts that expire at the end of next season.
