Watford lead chase for Ntep

Premier League high flyers Watford have moved to pole position to sign Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep, according to Le 10 Sport.

Having failed to agree a contract extension with les Bretons, the talented attacker looks set to leave his current employers in the winter transfer window.

And even though Ligue 1 giants Marseille and Bordeaux are keen, the latest reports suggest that Premier League outfit Watford have emerged as favourites for his signature.

The Hornets have established initial contact with Ntep’s representatives, and it goes without saying that they can offer the player much better deal than the other two sides currently in the mix.

Rennes seem ready to let their star player leave in January, but they want around €5 million for his services.

Paul-Georges Ntep has yet to register his first Ligue 1 goal this term, but he has so far bagged 16 goals in 68 league appearances.
