Watford set to sign Fluminense youngster Joao Pedro

Premier League side Watford made a stellar start to the new season with four wins and one defeat after five rounds of competition.

The Hornets have endured a difficult couple of seasons back within the country’s elite clubs but appear to have stabilized under new boss Javi Garcia. Sitting fourth in the standings, Watford will be targeting a top-half finish and the club has already started making long-term plans to ensure the Premier League status.

According to reports coming from the Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte, Watford have opened negotiations with Fluminense over a possible deal for the 17-year-old prospect Joao Pedro.

Having established a positive business relationship with the Brazilian giants after the transfer of Richarlison back in 2017, Watford are hoping to grab another Brazilian pearl. Joao Pedro has been pinpointed as one of the hottest prospects in Brazilian football with 25 goals to his name already in 2018.

The Hornets are said to have already opened negotiations over a transfer move that would materialize in 2020. Watford are keen to secure Joao Pedro’s services as soon as he turns 18 and then leave him in Brazil on a year-long loan before bringing him back to England.
