Watford want Deulofeu permanently

Watford will attempt to sign Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona on a permanent basis, the Watford Observer have reported. The Catalan club’s general manager Pep Segura is in Brazil at the moment, but is scheduled to hold toalks with Watford owner Gino Pozzo when he returns.

Deulofeu has revealed his desire to leave Barcelona, he spoke about it openly as he doesn’t believe he will ever have a place in the team at Camp Nou. He has also hinted at the possibility of staying permanently at the Vicarage Road since his move on loan in January. During that time he was injury-plagued, so he made only seven appearances and got on the scoresheet once.

The winger’s contract with Barcelona is set to expire next year, and they will be happy to accept an offer well below his €20million buyout clause in order to get him off their books now and avoid seeing him go for free.
